I wanted to post these awhile ago (like on Valentine’s Day – duh). But time has started to catch up to me! Yikes it’s already March this weekend!! WOW! Anyway, Valentine’s Day is usually just another day in our house, occasionally flowers or cards will appear but this year I took it upon myself and made a visit to a cute shop in Bowling Green. Which since I graduated from BGSU awhile ago (this year will be 10 years! woa) I never really get to go back as often as I’d like. The town, not to mention the campus, has changed so much in the years that I have left! Anyway, back to these cute pix of Grant. I stopped at Myles Baker Street and picked up a few little sweets for my guys. I thought it was ironic that Meredith – the shops owner – gave me a cookie that said ’smile’ on it! Yummy. Yummy. Any brides that may be looking for a neat, gorgeous wedding cake with some style you need to check them out!

Something New.

This is something new that I started doing and some of you already know about this because you have received one – which I hope you all have enjoyed! I have been meaning to post this for awhile and also let a few of you (Lisa, Laura, and Rachael) – yours should be arriving soon. This is what I call my little black box, my ‘bribe’ box, my little gift of thanks. How do you receive it? Well, if you book with Sarah J Photography on the spot (signed contract & retainer fee) at the time of our first meeting or over the phone for those out of town brides who don’t meet with me, then the box is yours. This is my little way to say Thank you to those who have done your research or listened to your friends AND for not making me wait for an answer. :)
Now….the secret is what is inside of it!!

Congrats!

In response to three emails in three days from past brides, I thought I would make a small post! Out of my (own) 29 brides of 2007, I know of atleast 3 of them that are expecting!! Congratulations Heather, Brianna & Amy!! I’m so happy for you & your families! This is such a special time ~ ENJOY it! Not to mention, I have 2 of my own personal GOOD friends & my cousin that are all expecting, so I think 2008 might be a busy belly year!

I also want to take this moment to tell you that I will have a table at the Bizzy Bee Baby & Toddler Show coming up in March! I’m super excited to be doing this, since most of you may know that I don’t ‘do’ bridal fairs, so this is my first time doing anything like this! So please come visit me! March 16 from noon-4 at the Sylvania Sports & Exhibition Center at Tamoshanter!

What to do with a toddler in the winter?

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

This was a question I had as soon as the weather started to get too chilly for a walk to the park with my son. So… I began looking for new places to go and thought that I should share. I’m sure there are other parents out there that might need some new fun. Or even aunts or uncles or grandparents that might need a new place to go and give mom & dad a break!

The Toledo Public Library – downtown on Adams Street. This was my first addiction. I love going to the library with my son for storytime. It’s such a great time to bond and spend time with him. Not to mention they have an incredible children’s library plus a toddler play room!! Grant loves to see the ‘fishies’. Click here for info.

Ofcourse the museum has art for children! They have their own Family Center and it is amazing! Great for homeschoolers, too! The center is open Tuesday, Thursdays and Sundays and has so many options for children (of any age) to keep busy… and the best part – it’s FREE! Click here for info.

monkey_jump_logo_final-394x394.jpg Monkey Jump! This is such a great place for kids to be kids and adults who wish they could be a kid all over again! They are located in Perrysburg and is definitely worth a visit. Check out their site to see what they are all about. This might be Grant’s favorite place.

We are visiting a new place (for us) on Friday morning called Playground World. They are located in Maumee – Arrowhead Park. They make and sell playground equipment, but the good thing is that they have a showroom that is open play from 10-11 on Monday & Friday. I’m just hoping I can get a parking spot!! Click for info.

There are other things to do as well in and around Toledo just to list a few:
Monday from 10-noon, the Toledo Zoo is free for Lucas County Residents
Borders Books has their own story time on Wednesdays at 11am.
Barnes & Noble has crafts on Fridays at 11am .
Free Movie rentals at the library EVERYday.
Certain Restaurants offer Kids specials (trust me we have not been to all these places) – Mi Hacienda (kids eat free on Sundays), BW’s on Central ($1.99 on Mondays), Friendly’s (kids eat free Mondays & Tuesdays), Lonestar (kids eat free on Tuesdays), Schlotzky’s Deli ($1.99 pizza Wednesdays & Saturdays)

Hope this helps other children to have fun! I know being home and indoors too long would make me crazy!
