‘working visit vaca’

Monday, March 30th, 2009

If you follow the blog, you might know that I have family in South Carolina which is always so handy :)

Last week we went for a ‘working visit vacation’ to SC. My brother will be fulfilling an all time dream by opening his own restaurant in a few weeks and had asked me to fill it with photographs. So we had a photo date where he drove and I photographed all sorts of things. A little bit different than my typical shoot considering I didn’t tell anyone what to do or how to look but still managed to have fun, enjoy myself and the time with Kurt. We were together for about 6 hours and came home with 300 images in my camera. It then took me a few days to go through all the images, delete, edit, print & finally frame in time for us to catch our plane back home. The name of his restuarant is the Black River Grill – so he wanted many shots of the river/boats and not to mention the oak trees that are all over the place. Gorgeous oak trees. We headed south a bit to Huntington State Park for the Atalaya Castle and then across the street to the Brookgreen Gardens and then further south to Georgetown for the river. It was an honor to do this both with and for my big brother personally and professionally. I hope to get back soon to see my images on the walls and ofcourse see the restaurant open. But until then, here are a few my favorite shots of the day and if you are ever in the Myrtle Beach/Surfside area – you definitely need to stop by for some food & drink.

Stefanie & Jeff ~ 3.7.09

On Saturday, Mary & I found ourselves together [after 2 very long months without a wedding] in Sandusky for Stef & Jeff’s big day! So it was a great feeling to put the cameras back on and be part of such an awesome celebration. Once in awhile I will check the weather report on the weather channel site as I prepare for the wedding day, and what I saw for Saturday didn’t make me feel all that great in fact it was a big fat bummer - hour by hour it was going to rain. Well, that’s what it was suppose to do!! And well it didn’t. So… there you go folks – you just never know. It turned out just perfect. The ladies weren’t cold, no one was sweating and there was no rain until the ride home - it was just perfect. The guys were a bit rowdy, but it was nothing to do with the weather.

I loved being part of Stefanie & Jeff’s wedding – from the moment I met Stefanie and saw her smile (she’s simply gorgeous!) I knew I would like her details and ofcourse the green is awesome – you can never have tooooo much green! I’m sure you both are enjoying your time away in the Virgin Islands – you deserve it!!
