lauren & jeff ~ 3.20.10

Another fantastic green wedding in March :) lucky me…!!

Being part of Lauren & Jeff’s wedding was like hanging out with a bunch of friends … It was fun, easy and lots of laughs and great details! They had the perfect wedding day. Yummm casual yet fancy brunch in the morning, salon @ the hotel, dressed at the church, first look down the aisle [this is when the bride & groom will see each other prior to the ceremony - eeeeeks, breaking the tradition - but so worth it], then laid back photos inside and even some photos outside in March! Then ofcourse back to the church for the ceremony and off to the happening reception at the country club! And it doesn’t stop there…the toasts were perfect, dances, cake….all great.

As I drive home after weddings, I typically have an  ’awwwwww-ness’ moment – a reminder or a feeling as to why I love my job and I probably look silly driving with a huge smile on my face. Before that though, I always track down the parents before I leave the reception and simply thank them for a great day. It’s simple as that. A great day. Well….this ‘awww-ness’ moment hit me before I even got to my car after Lauren & Jeff’s big day. It truly was a great wedding day. I worked with one of my best friends [my second shooter, Rochelle], Lauren & Jeff was a super couple and the day just went as smooth as possible with the coordinators from Elite Events and my favorite DJ, Michael from Decorative Sound…and Lauren wore green shoes!! How could this end any better?! Thank you all ~

You all know I love details!

stacey & matt ~ 3.6.10

Monday, March 29th, 2010

okay okay, I know I’m late at getting this post out….A lot has happened since their wedding and I feel like I’m finally back to normal Sarah J life. The day after Stacey & Matt celebrated their super fun green & pink day, I flew to Vegas – yep Vegas for 3 days for WPPI [a huge photography conference] and I’m still taking in what I’ve learned in those short 3 days. It was an overwhelming but fulfilling few days. Not to mention it took 4+ days to get adjusted to the time change, lack of sleep, try to respond to emails, and most important be my son’s mom!  I do hope to create a separate post with a few images from the trip ~ I’ve also had 2 other weddings since this one, so please watch the blog in the next few days.

So back to Stacey & Matt ~ High School Sweethearts [yes, that still happens!!] When we met in Cleveland for their engagement session and they showed up in matching shoes along with some balloons, I knew they were going to be a fun couple and didn’t expect anything more for their wedding day. Lots of laughs, very laid back and I loved that Matt wore white, it doesn’t happen as much as it should, in my opinion. They had a great Irish twist to their day with all the green, shamrocks, even bagpiper.  [loved it] They definitely complete each other and they make a great pair! Congrats you too ~ !

And of course a few reception details….can’t skip the COOKIE table ~ !! I think this little Youngstown tradition needs to come west to Toledo.

vania & nate ~ 2.27.10

What can I say about Vania & Nate? They are awesome. Awesome with style. I absolultely loved being part of their wedding day! I won’t go into ‘how they met’ but I will tell you it’s one of my favorite stories…if you know these two then you know how unique their story is AND you will also know what a match they make. They chose to do a ‘first look’ prior to the ceremony, which allowed us a nice amount of time for photos and killed all the nerves…I won’t tell you how they couldn’t keep their eyes off one another either – oooops, it just slipped. :) My fabulous friend (of 15 yrs!), assistant and designer, Rochelle, gave us access to do photos in a neat old/not in use/hotel – thanks to her mom!  I love-love-love the space, the light, the windows – especially on a cold, snowy February day. Thank you Vania & Nate for trusting us, being sports in the cold and being you.

Here’s a few details from the reception ~

Becky & Conrad ~ 1.2.10

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Okay….I know I’m way behind on blogging this January wedding [my apologies!] It was a fantastic but cold day. Becky & Conrad had a gorgeous ceremony at Saint Joan of Arc in Toledo and later celebrated at Holland Gardens in Holland. Everyone was full of smiles and so happy to be there! We decided to do photos at the library downtown and absolutley loved it!! [consider it my little secret that I'm spreading....] Afterwards, we still had some time and wanted to quickly get some outside photos on our way to the reception. Becky was such a trooper!!! I did mention is was cold, right? Well, it was freezing! Thanks to my friend and local photographer, Jennifer Mott for being my second shooter ~ we had a great time!

A few party shots ~
