In my business, there is no doubt that I looooove to photograph weddings, hands down. However the next best thing about my business is when a past couple contact me with news of a baby and then eventually getting the opportunity to meet the newborn (s)!! It hard to put into words the joy I have when I walk into their home and not only meet the little one but see my couple, my friends make the switch from newlyweds to parents…it’s neat.

I met with a great family in Tiffin a few weeks back….filled with tons of laughs and chasing around a toddler, fun times! Thank you Abbey for contacting me!

 

Sara & Chad chose to do their engagement session at Wild Wood and I can’t complain…it’s one of my favorite parks! Had a great time with these two & looking forward to their wedding in the fall I’m sure I will be laughing, like I was most of their session…love their humor.

 

Okay, so it’s funny how some seasons I’m at the same church or reception site twice [which happened already in June, next wedding post] But it’s even more funny [is this correct grammar?] when I’m in the same little town 3 times in 4 weeks. And to be honest I didn’t even know where Ottawa was before booking these 3 weddings! I drove an hour each time and taking a different route each time – just to mix it up – and there is something about the country that calms me – maybe it is because I grew up in farmland or the landscape is so peaceful. Anywho, I enjoyed the drive, I enjoyed the people and of course my brides & grooms – who coincidently, all the grooms grew up here [not knowing one another].

So let’s get to my last Ottawa couple – Elizabeth & Craig. They met at the University of Dayton. Whew and let me tell you…UD Alumni loooove their school.  Such pride and commitment…it’s nice to see!! These two are so cute together and their spark is obvious. So let get to a few of my favorites…

 

I think Elizabeth would be highly disappointed if I didn’t include a few photos of Rudy Flyer who made a special and VERY secretive visit to their reception. You see, Elizabeth was very eager to have Rudy at her reception but bridesmaid and close friend, Tracie had another plan…she lied to Elizabeth, yep she lied and told her Rudy wasn’t able to make it. All the while  making the right contacts and with the help of her father and made it all happen. So with the next image, you can tell they were surprised…oh and I was in on the whole secret the whole time too. Ha, so there I can keep secrets!!

Awhile back I met Erin & Mike in cute little Grand Rapids, Ohio for their engagement session. Had a great time with them as we walked the town, laughed, got to know one another and explored some rail cars. They were super easy to photograph ~ Can’t wait until their wedding in September!
